These three measurements determine the interior box dimensions. The exterior box dimensions — which determine the printable surface area and the overall package size — are calculated from the interior dimensions plus the board thickness. This calculation is done as part of the free structural dieline included with every order.
Box Formats for Cream Jars
Tuck-end cartons are the standard format for single-jar packaging. The jar slides in from the top, the tuck closure closes securely, and the exterior carries the brand design. Reverse tuck is recommended for cream jars because the opposing flap directions create a more secure closure that holds during retail handling.
Two-piece rigid boxes for premium skincare brands — the lid lifts off and the jar is revealed inside, typically sitting in a foam insert that holds it precisely at the right angle. For skincare brands at $40 and above, this format validates the price point in a way that tuck-end cartons at any finish level cannot fully replicate.
